Meet Dr. Tom Marcel
When Dr. Tom Marcel opened his first orthodontic practice in Livermore shortly after graduating from the University of California, San Francisco in 1991, he set out to create more than a place where patients could straighten their teeth. He wanted to build an office where people felt welcome, cared for, and excited to come back.
Since then, he has dedicated his career to serving local families while remaining actively involved in numerous dental boards, clubs, and professional associations.
More than 30 years later, he still loves coming to work each day and helping patients discover what a healthy, confident smile can do for them.

In the Community
Supporting the Tri-Valley community is an important part of the Marcel Method Orthodontic Specialists team culture. Dr. Marcel enjoys taking part in many of the team’s community initiatives, including:
- Donations to Tri-Valley Haven, Open Heart Kitchen, and the Livermore Valley Education Foundation
- Fourth of July, Kidz Hay Day, Halloween, and Christmas at Carnegie Park celebrations
- Local events through Livermore Downtown
- My Teacher Rocks, a program that celebrates exceptional local educators
- Our annual Halloween Candy Buyback
Outside of the Office
When he’s not creating smiles, Dr. Marcel enjoys cheering on the San Jose Sharks and attending games whenever he can. A lifelong sports fan, he rarely misses the chance to catch the action in person.
He also enjoys staying active through biking and golf, and spends his free time cooking, listening to music, watching movies, and reading.
